The economic importance of direct sales (in organic production) WiBiDi

Direct sales are an important trade sector in Germany. Around 2,45 billion euros is spent each year on weekly markets and directly from farmers alone. However, there is yet no scientific data on the importance of direct marketing of organic products for both farmers and the national economy. The main aim of this project is therefore to evaluate the national and regional economic importance of direct marketing of organic products in Germany, and to elaborate a method which allows regular updates in statistical data. Simultaneously, the collected data should enable to develop economic indicators of marketing channels such as market stalls, vending machines or mail order.

Updating the regional database on organic farming in Baden-Württemberg

Ecozept has been commissioned by the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection (MLR) to comprehensively update the data on regional organic farming and the demand for organic food in Baden-Württemberg on the basis of the Ecozept-FiBL study "EVA - BIOBW 2030", published in 2021. The background to this is the further development of the "Action Plan Organic from Baden-Württemberg", for which the update provides an important data basis.

On the basis of this updated data, the MLR's measures for the expansion of organic farming can be designed to be as targeted and supportive as possible.
