Project aim:
ECOZEPT has been mandated regularly since 2012 by the Organics Cluster Rhône-Alpes (a regional organic association) to analyze organic markets in different countries: Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and US.

Activities of ECOZEPT:
Using relevant literature and numerous discussions with experts ECOZEPT analyzes the current situation and future trends in the following product categories: organic food, organic wine, organic cosmetic, ecological textiles, organic food supplements and organic household cleaner.

Feasibility study: 30% organic farming in Bavaria achievable by 2030?

ECOZEPT has carried out a feasibility study on the target of 30% organic farming in Bavaria by 2030 together with FiBL Projekte GmBH. The target of 30% was formulated in the referendum on biodiversity "Save the bees" in Bavaria at the beginning of 2019 and was supported by 1.8 million Bavarians.

Food Costing and internalisation of Externalities for System Transition

Current food systems don’t reflect the true costs of food. In order to achieve sustainable food systems, the project’s objective is to develop tools, business models and policies to measure and value positive and negative external costs of food. By internalising climate, biodiversity, environmental, social and health externalities, these costs are going to be reflected in market prices and thus in the decision making of actors in food value chains. FOODCoST (Food Costing and internalisation of Externalities for System Transition) will guide business, policy makers and other actors to support the transition towards a sustainable food system. This EU-research project is coordinated by Stichting Wageningen Research (Netherlands).
