Development of regional organic supply chains for the preventive protection of groundwater in the Upper Palatinate Jura (Central Bavaria) and surrounding areas

Project aim:

The association of eleven water suppliers in the Upper Palatinate Jura region wants to promote organic farming to ensure water quality in their watershed.  To achieve this, regional organic supply chains must be created or strengthened while working in synergy with the four organic model regions located within the catchment area. The pilot project, unique in Bavaria, is funded by the Rural Development Office (Amt für ländliche Entwicklung).

Activities of ECOZEPT:

Ecozept supports agricultural businesses that are intending to convert to organic production with marketing of their regionally produced organic products. In this regard, Ecozept analyzes market potential, particularly in the area of organic treshed crops, and identifies concrete marketing opportunities. The aim is to establish value-adding partnerships for existing and new business sectors in order to ensure stable and, if possible, long-term marketing. Another task is to provide support to minzgruen, a PR agency commissioned by TWS, in the development and implementation of communication activities and public relations work.
