How can the OOWV achieve more organic farming in its drinking-water catchment areas?

Project aim:
Creation of an expertise on the expansion of organic farming in the drinking-water catchment areas of the Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesischer Wasserverband (OOWV, water association for Oldenburg and Easter Frisia). The aim of the study is to identify ways on how to promote the willingness to convert to organic farming. This should be achieved through the development and marketing of regional water-conservation-products and suitable further training- and communication offers.

Activities of ECOZEPT:
Ecozept is conducting this study together with FiBL Projekte GmbH, the AMI Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft mbH and the Kompetenzzentrum Ökolandbau Niedersachen (KÖN, competence centre on organic farming in Lower Saxony). Through analysing examples of success and surveys, possible opportunities for action on the expansion of organically farmed areas will be identified and a further training and communication programme will be designed. Ecozept contributes to the analysis of the success stories and examines the potential of the different action alternatives within the framework of a feasibility analysis.
