Project aim:
On behalf of the regional organic umbrella organisation Cluster Bio Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (South East France), Ecozept continuously conducts market studies on organic prodcuts in different European countries and abroad. The target of the studies is to give French organic companies insights into the corresponding export markets and recommendations for action as well as to establish business contacts. In 2024, we are analysing Germany, Italy, Ireland, the USA and Austria.

Activities of ECOZEPT:
In addition to the analysis of the current markets’ situation and the description of market tendencies for organic products and natural cosmetics, company profiles of important players in retail and distribution are created. This is carried out through various desktop research and SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat) analyses.

The aim of the project is to update the guidelines 'More organic in local authorities', which have been in existence since 2017. Ecozept and its partners are adapting the content in line with changes in administrative and funding legislation and are providing up-to-date examples of good practice from different areas of local authority catering.

A Study of Organic Corn, Sunflower, Soft Wheat and Soybean Supply Chains Worldwide

Following our studies on organic field crops in 2021 and on organic wheat and soybeans in 2023, Agence Bio, Terres Univia and Intercéréales seek to consolidate knowledge of the global organic field crop sector. To this end, they seek to continue analyzing the organic wheat and soybean supply chains while expanding the scope to include organic corn and sunflowers across 44 countries.

This third market study provides an overview of these supply chains in various countries, ranging from production (acreage, volumes, prices) to processing (volumes of oilcake, oil, flour, soy-based foods, etc.), as well as trade flows and end-product markets. The study includes an analysis of Europe’s dependence on imports, the political and regulatory environment in third countries and the identification of the main economic players in the various countries.

Crisis management tools for organic markets

Organic markets in Europe are slowing down. Against this backdrop, the Fédération Nationale de l'Agriculture biologique has commissioned Ecozept to draw up an inventory of the crisis management tools put in place in various countries during past crises in the organic market. The aim is to draw up recommendations for crisis management.
