Project aim:
In 2015, the Hauts de France Region launched the operation "Manger Bio Local au Lycée" (Local Organic Eating at High School) in order to consolidate the development of organic surfaces in the Region, to ensure the sustainability of the region's organic businesses and to provide high school students with quality food. The objective set by this campaign was to reach 10% of local organic products in the collective catering of the partner high schools (40 in 2015, 70 planned for 2017). In 2017, the regional operation became "Je mange local au lycée" (I eat local at high school) with still this 10% target on local organic products and a target of 70% local products (organic and non-organic).

Activities of ECOZEPT:
Ecozept has been commissioned in partnership with Delphine Ducoeurjoly to provide individual support to high schools (inventory of the catering service, help with planning purchases, day-to-day monitoring, assistance with public procurement, etc.) but also collective support (visits to farms and businesses, raising awareness among kitchen staff, newsletters, training, etc.). Ecozept was also responsible for coordinating the actions of the regional partners (Region, A Pro Bio, Gabnor, Chamber of Agriculture) around the project.

Local (organic) food for school canteens in the Occitanie region (South of France)

The regional council in Occitanie has raised the food policy to one of its „major regional tasks in 2018“ and fixed an ambitious objective: in 2021 a 40% share of local or “high quality food” in high schools canteens shall be reached, half of it coming from organic agriculture. 191 schools of 2nd degree as well as 2 central kitchens of the region are concerned.
